Call for Applications: Hungarian Government Scholarships for Ugandan Scholars 2024/2025

The Hungarian Government is pleased to announce scholarship opportunities for qualified Ugandan scholars seeking to pursue studies at various levels in Hungarian universities for the academic year 2024/2025. The available fields of study span across Undergraduate, Masters, and PhD levels, providing a diverse range of opportunities for academic growth.

Scholarship Details:

PhD Level Slots:

• Agricultural Sciences: 02

Masters Level Slots:

• Computer Science: 04
• Agricultural Sciences: 04
• Infrastructural Engineering: 03

Bachelors Level Slots:

• Civil Engineering: 02
• Nursing: 02

One Tier Masters (OTM):

• Medicine/Dentistry/Pharmacy: 03

Eligibility Criteria:

Undergraduate Applicants:

1. Must have scored a minimum of two Principal passes at C level in the essential subjects.
2. Must have completed A’ level not more than two years ago.
3. Must not be more than 25 years of age at the time of application.
4. Those already admitted on other Government Scholarships/Sponsorship should not apply.

Masters Level Applicants:

1. Should have a Bachelors degree in the relevant field from a recognized University.
2. Should have a minimum of an upper second degree or CGPA of 3.60.
3. Should have at least two years of work experience at the time of application.
4. Applicants with foreign qualifications should have their academic papers equated by the National Council for Higher Education before applying.

PhD Level Applicants:

1. Must have attained a masters degree in a relevant field.
2. Should have a minimum CGPA of 3.60 at the masters level.
3. Applicants with foreign qualifications should have their academic papers equated by the National Council for Higher Education before submission of the application.

Application Procedure:

1. The application form can be downloaded from the Ministry of Education and Sports website: www.education.go.ug.
2. Alternatively, applicants can type/handwrite the application, attaching a recent passport photo.
3. The application should include age, sex, course, home district, telephone contact, email address, photocopies of academic certificates and transcripts.
4. Address the application to: 

             The Secretary

             Central Scholarships Committee

             Ministry of Education and Sports

             KAMPALA

       5. Submit the application to the Department of Admissions, Scholarship, and Students Affairs, 2nd Floor, Wing B, Legacy Towers, Kyadondo Road – KAMPALA.

       6.   Alternatively, email the application to: scholarships@education.go.ug.

       7.   Applications should reach no later than Thursday, 30th November 2023.

Selection Process:

• The shortlist will be displayed on the Ministry of Education and Sports website: www.education.go.ug and on notice boards at Legacy Towers by Friday, 8th December 2023.
