Lira Institute of Health and Management Sciences

Lira Institute of Health and Management Sciences  started in 2003, and is a profit making, tertiary training institution that achieved recognition by Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC) of Uganda, Ministry of Education and Sports (MOES) through the Business, Technical, Vocational Education and Training department (BTVET) in 2005 and was later allocated an examination centre number by Uganda Allied Examinations Board (UAHEB). It serves the purpose of providing Ordinary and Advanced Level Leavers with a chance to acquire knowledge, skills, competences and positive attitudes towards a 2-year beginning career course in medical laboratory training leading to the award of Certificate in Laboratory Techniques (CLT) and Certificate in Pharmacy Techniques by UAHEB. Diploma in Medical Laboratory is a three years course.

One of our principle activities is the provision of Low-cost but high quality training services to the students and the community, and seeing to it that they attain their Certificate and Diploma within a conducive environment.
