Welcome to the Management Training and Advisory Centre (MTAC), a dynamic body corporate operating under the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives (MTIC). Established on July 14, 1964, as a Government of Uganda (GOU) project funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and executed by the International Labour Organisation (ILO), MTAC has evolved into a pivotal institution dedicated to enhancing management practices and fostering entrepreneurship.
Key Milestones: The success of the initial project led to the formal establishment of MTAC through the Management Training and Advisory Centre Act of 1969.
Main Objectives:
- Provide advisory and training services to government departments, public, and private institutions.
- Enhance management practices in industries and economic sectors.
- Support enterprises in studying and designing new products, models, and devices.
- Prepare Ugandan citizens for managerial, functional, and supervisory roles.
- Foster entrepreneurship and job creation.
- Elevate the skill standards of workers in various industries.
- Organize and conduct training courses for both semi-skilled and skilled workers.
MTAC's Mandate: Our core mandate revolves around promoting enterprise development, imparting sound management practices, and cultivating a spirit of entrepreneurship through training and advisory services.
Contributions and Impact: Over the years, MTAC has played a pivotal role in enhancing management practices, empowering Ugandans to become entrepreneurs, and fostering job creation.
Governance: MTAC adheres to the principles of good corporate governance, boasting a well-constituted Council representing the public sector, private sector, and employee organizations.
Council Committees: The Council operates through three committees - the Professional & Academic Committee, Finance & Development Committee, and the Finance and Human Resource Committee - ensuring effective discharge of its duties.

Program Duration:
- Diploma Programs: 2 years, divided into 4 semesters.
Minimum Entry Requirements:
- Diploma Programs: At least one (1) principal pass and two (2) subsidiary passes at 'A' Level, attained at the same sitting.
- Certificate Programs: At least 3 passes at 'O' Level, attained at the same sitting.
